Heddle calculator
Enter your loom measurements and the whole harness comes out below: heddles per rod, the count of every heddle item, spring counts, pulley set and the per-rod threading order. Everything runs in your own browser — nothing is sent to us.
Enter the measurements and press Calculate.

How is it calculated?
- Heddles per rod = top wires + bottom wires + (groups × steel per group).
- Each heddle item = rod count × its per-rod quantity. Total = rods × heddles per rod.
- The long spring count equals top + bottom wire heddles; the short spring count equals the centre steel heddles.
- Jacquard work has no rods: loom width = width + 4 cm, dents/cm = reed ÷ 10, one course = width × dents/cm (rounded up to ten). Total steel = course × colours. The wire multiplier depends on the work type: Velour 0, Spinger 1, Belgian 2, Cenova 4.
- Pulley sets = hooks ÷ tail, quick links = hooks, modules = hooks ÷ 8.
This calculation follows the rules from our past harnesses and is meant for checking. On an order we verify the measurements on the loom as well.
